Kindergarten STEM

Kindergarten students are eager to learn as much as they can about living things, especially plants, as they work together to develop rules for a healthy garden at our school.

1st Grade STEM

After discovering that many of their classmates dislike vegetables and that sugary snacks are harmful to their teeth, the first-grade students are curious if they can encourage healthier choices by learning to grow vegetables themselves. Currently, they’re studying plant parts and learning what plants need to thrive.

3rd Grade STEM

Third-grade students at WGES are learning more about ways to make a positive change regarding the plastic problem.

4th Grade STEM

Fourth graders at WGES are tackling a real-world challenge at our school: How can we cultivate healthy soil without harming the ecosystem that supports our pollinator plants?

5th Grade STEM

The fifth-grade students are on a mission to tackle food waste and prevent it from ending up in landfills. This month, they decided to dig deeper and find out exactly how much food we waste on an average day at WGES. Working alongside each class, they sorted and collected food waste to measure how much ends up in the landfill from our school each day.
